Tax relief, increasing stakes, increased crowds, unsatisfied demand from Hong Kong and Singapore for proven NZ bloodstock. More success at the Trials. Sahara Storm, the two year old filly raced by the Fortuna (No 6) Syndicate, scored an impressive 10 length win at the Paeroa trials Tuesday 24th June. See News for more detail
He's Licarocket just failed to win back to back races when going down by a half head at Otaki Sunday 22nd June. Allocated topweight and drawn wide, the two year old son of Easy Rocking worked his way to the lead, led all of the way but was run down on the line.

Two horses, Tell a Tale and Volkarrie have been Stakes Placed in Listed Races; Fortuna horses have won prize money at all starts bar one. Sir Invincible (seven starts including two wins and a second ) and He’s Licarocket (six starts for two wins, two seconds and a fourth placing) both won on their debut. Volkarrie won at his second start and ran a very creditable third in a Listed Stakes race at Riccarton after drawing wide. Tell A Tale ran third on debut and won his second start by four and a half lengths, before running fourth in the Listed Ford Fairview Slipper at Matamata
