Who we are

Fortuna Ltd was incorporated early in 2007 with the sole purpose of becoming an authorized Syndicator under the Bloodstock Exemption granted to New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing by the Securities Commission. That authorization has been granted by NZTR.

Fortuna Ltd, under the direction of its founder John Galvin, provides full syndication services including the putting together of syndicates with people who have a common interest in racing quality bloodstock, full administration and racing manager services.

Fortuna Ltd has a close association with Te Akau Racing Stables and entrusts the selection of thoroughbred yearlings to be raced by the Fortuna Syndicates to one of the best in the business, David Ellis, the Principal of Te Akau Racing Stables. Te Akau Racing Stables, to whom Fortuna has entrusted the training of its syndicated horses, has now gone International with Mark Walker, New Zealand’s Champion Trainer in six of the past eight years, heading up the Singaporean operation, while Jason Bridgeman, based at Matamata, heads up the New Zealand operation.
