Friday Flash 8th October

Fortuna has one runner in NZ at Hawera and two in Singapore on Saturday 9th October

New Zealand

Khafeef races in the R65 2100m at Hawera Saturday 2nd – Race 8 @4.45pm – will be ridden by Ryan Elliot – ran a solid finishing 6th beaten 2.6 lengths at Waverley 30th September – will really appreciate the extra distance and represents a good each way chance

Singapore

Brutus contests the Class 4 1200m Turf – race 6 @  7.30 pm – to  be ridden by Stable Apprentice, Jerlyn Seow, claiming 3kgs – last start winner in Class 5, so up in Grade here but has drawn well in Barrier 2 and will carry just 49kgs – has a lot of ability and can feature here

Here is what the  STC tipsters say about this race

1st Pick: SPEEDY MISSILE (4)
Things didn’t go his way at his last outing when donning blinker-pacifiers for the first time. The blinker-pacifiers come off. Cast plate. Can take this if on song.
2nd Pick: ROCKETSHIP (6)
Let supporters down at her last two runs. Still learning the trade, but is not without ability. Well drawn and maps well for this race
3rd Pick: BRUTUS (5)
Versatile sort but best runs have been from the front. Scored in Class 5 company last start and goes back up to Class 4 level. No weight on his back and will be hard to get past in straight if he is left alone upfront.
4th Pick: NO FUN NO GAIN (3)
Long time between drinks but last two starts have been encouraging. Four wins were over this course and distance. Expected to show improvement in this.

BRUTUS – Wins in Singapore 18th September 2021

Marcus Antonius is entered in the Class 5 1700m Poly – Race 8 at 8.30 pm but is Ballot 4 and so very unlikely to get a start
